Executive Manager / Managing Director

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

The Executive Manager (Managing Director) will be responsible for a successful daily management of the ENRICH Centre and its Network, and for achieving quantitate targets of revenues and sustainability of the Association. 

The Position will be based in Brazil (São Paulo), but virtually during the pandemic. The role holder should be flexible in working approach, willing to travel, to attend meetings and events, presential and on-line, and be available to work outside normal office hours when required.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the Association, including management of the Administrative & Financial Officer person
  • Close monitoring of the Financial Budget and Forecasts
  • Close monitoring on Revenue and Expenditure.
  • Close monitoring of Compliance and Governance
  • Relationship management within the Association: Partners, Board of Directors, General Assembly, Advisory Committee, Audit Committee
  • Enrich in LAC project alignments and relationship management, per the project coordinator (IPK)
  • Constant analysis of the service portfolio of the Association
  • Acquisition of customers, members and other regional partners
  • Membership Management: Managing and retaining relationships with existing members and customers
  • Support the Executive Board of the ENRICH in Brazil Association on a management level
  • Actively undertake and engage on client prospection and acquisition activities, including business meetings, development of commercial proposals, CRM follow ups, negotiation of new service contracts, etc.
  • Support the marketing activities in Europe, Brazil and Latin America and the Caribbean (Promote & ‘Sell’ ENRICH’s Network and services on Events – e.g. Congresses, Conferences, etc.)
  • Identifying and mapping strengths of the Association (and the ENRICH Network) and member/customer needs
  • Developing and implementing national and regional (LAC) growth strategies and plans for the Association in line with ENRICH in LAC objectives
  • Providing guidance and support for the implementation of ENRICH in LAC in line with the growth strategies and plans of the Association
  • Identifying concrete business opportunities, writing business proposals and offers
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts with the support from the external legal advisor
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements to the Executive Board, as well as to the ENRICH in LAC Consortium

Key Indicators/Targets defined to reach within 1 year of contract duration: 

The Executive Manager (Managing Director) will support the establishment of the ENRICH Network; within 1 year of contract duration, he/she will 

  • Establish contract / relation to 200 (potential) members, willing to become part of the ENRICH Centre (in respect to the defined role of a member)
  • Establish contract / relation to 30 Partners, willing to contribute to the ENRICH community (in respect to the defined role of a Partner)
  • Represent ENRICH in Brazil at least 10 events in Brazil and Latin America
  • Increase significantly the revenue generated to ENRICH, up to R$ 300.000,00, as a result of his/her commercial activities and guaranty partial sustainability of Enrich in Brazil Centre, after 1 year of operation

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have language skills: English, Spanish & Portuguese is prerequisite
  • Have previous experience in a similar role and can prove excellent communication skills
  • Have considerable experience working within the Innovation Ecosystem in Latin America and/or Europe or, ideally, within both
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness in both approach and delivery
  • Demonstrate a professional approach in terms of commitment and client care
  • Have a good network of institutional contacts in Latin America is desired
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with intercultural situations
  • Have the ability to stay calm and composed in often demanding situations and adopt a proactive ‘can do’ approach as well as being able to work well on own initiative and as part of a wider team;
  • Be IT literate – knowledge of MS Office is essential; experience of using CRM systems, databases would be beneficial
  • Hold a Master Degree (or higher) in Business Administration/MBA or similar with focus on marketing and/or customer relationship management (recommended, but not mandatory)
  • Further Soft Skills required: Creative thinking, ability to build a brand, ability to understand people’s needs and expectations, goal focused

CONDITIONS

  • Service contract by ANPEI (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
  • 40h/week
  • 1 Year Contract Duration, possible to extend 2 more years if successful
  • Earliest possible entrance date: 5th February 2021
  • ENRICH Centre Office is located in São Paulo, Brazil
