GET TO KNOW THE STATE OF THE ART OF EHEALTH& INNOVATIVE EHEALTH PROJECTS IN EU & BRAZIL
eHealth, also known as digital health, relates to the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in healthcare to meet the needs of patients and medical staff. It deals with internet related activities that provide users with a wide variety of information electronically. The use of advanced ICT plays a key role in expanding the market (Source: Adapted from Health Works Collective).
It is crucial that medical professionals can easily access data about patients’ health. Access should be integrated, including the ability to extract substantial amounts of health data from different sources. Investments must be made in technologies that allow the management of high volumes of sensitive data, thanks to the use of IoT devices and cloud computing technologies, without compromising data privacy.
Brazil is one of the most important healthcare markets in South America. Electronic data recording mobile health solutions in Brazil account for nearly 28% of the Brazilian healthcare market. One reason for the boom in the digital health market is the growing elderly population, which is expected to reach 65 million in 2050. In Europe, the e-Health Market was worth $25.50 billion in 2016 and is estimated to be growing at a CAGR of 15.60%, predicted to reach $52.65 billion by 2021 (Source: Cloudscape Brazil 2018 report). This is an excellent opportunity for Europe and Brazil to create a joint eHealth market between both regions.
What is the state of the art of ehealth in Brazil and in Europe? Interested in learning about Brazilian and European eHealth projects that are unlocking the market growth and bringing innovation into eHealth sector, without compromising data privacy and security?
