ENRICH Sessions @EBN Congress
Two sessions by the ENRICH initative were offered to interested participations of the EBN Congress in Luxembourg on 6-8 June 2018!
EBN is a network of around 150 quality-certified EU|BICs (business and innovation centres) and 100 other organizations that support the development and growth of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs. EBN is also a community of professionals whose day-to-day work helps these businesses to grow in the most effective, efficient and sustainable way. (http://ebncongress.eu/) Technoport ltd. has been set-up back in June 2012 as the result of the merge between the former Technoport®, a technology-oriented business incubator launched by the Public Research Center Henri Tudor back in 1998, and Ecostart I and II, business support infrastructures developed since 2004 by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade. The global mission of Technoport® is to help and support individuals and small teams to validate and bridge their ideas to success through three platforms: a technology oriented incubator, a coworking space and a fablab.( www.technoport.lu). Together, these two entities were responsible for the organization and execution of the EBN Congress 2018, on the theme “The Future of Innovation”, from the 6th to the 8th of June, at in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). Business and Innovation Center managers, corporates, startups, entrepreneurs and experts in the innovation and incubation area were invited to debate, network, and establish partnerships for the development of innovation and businesses among the EU member states organizations, as well as other countries’ innovation representatives and institutions. It is in this context that, as an Enrich representative, ANPEI has also been invited to participate to the conference, and take part of two panels, (i) The 5 key steps to approaching international markets, and (ii) Pitching clinics: how to speak to international investors. ANPEI was invited in the quality of representing the perspective of the Brazilian Innovation and Business Ecosystem of Brazil, as it is the major multisector and independent Brazilian association that brings together the main professionals who practice technology-based innovation for the generation of high value-added business.
This intervention of ANPEI, a member of the Enrich Consortium in Brazil, is to be understood as an activity for raising the awareness on Enrich, its products and services, for the European Companies, Researchers, Investors, and other actors of the Business and Innovation ecosystem, which show interest in the Brazilian market, or in establishing partnerships with this country. Therefore, the overall participation of ANPEI, and more specifically the speeches nd debates at the two panels of Enrich shall belong to the “Get Informed” service roadmap, aiming at providing culture and information on how to do business in Brazil, market information, innovation ecosystem information.
For the “The 5 key steps to approaching international markets” panel, the main objective of ANPEI’s intervention was to provide concrete tips on the first steps entrepreneurs need to undertake when approaching the Brazilian market, investors, and partners. This session was therefore sponsored by the European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs (ENRICH), and focused on the importance of cultural management, providing real life tips on the first steps entrepreneurs need to undertake when it is about making business in Brazil (China and the US). The participants were given the opportunity to meet with the international expert from ANPEI, to get additional information and tailored feedback. Presentation can be downloaded here.
As far as the “Pitching clinics: how to speak to international investors” panel were concerned, the main objective of ANPEI’s intervention was to address and to debate what shall be known to entrepreneurs, before pitching to Brazilians. This session was also sponsored by the European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs (ENRICH), and was opened with a “crash course” on pitching, providing concrete tips and tricks on how to approach an investor and an introduction to each investment landscape. Then three startups were invited to pitch in front of a panel of European and international experts, among which the ANPEI Expert who provided feedback. These startups were then be given the opportunity to work their pitch again based on the received comments and review it with the international experts.
