CALL FOR PROPOSALS OF “BIOECONOMY INTERNATIONAL” IS OPEN!

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has launched a new funding initiative targeting Brazil called “Bioeconomy International”. It seeks projects from research organisations with partners from both Germany and Brazil to collaborate in the areas of industrial use of renewable resources (particularly biomass) and medicinal and aromatic plants (mapping, commercialization, industrial applications).
The objectives of this initiative are: encouraging cooperation between research organisations, strengthening the bioeconomy for the development of sustainable solutions for development.
The estimated budget for non-reimbursable financial support by Brazilian partners, from FNDCT and MAPA, operated by Finep, is up to the limit of R$ 9,300,000.00 (nine million and three hundred thousand reais). The estimated budget for non-reimbursable financial support by German partners is in the order of EUR 2,000,000.00 (two million euros), whereas 1 M EUR will be provided by BMBF and 1 M EUR will be provided by BMEL. The maximum amount of non-reimbursable support to Brazilian institutions, per project, is up to R $ 2,000,000.00 (two million reais). The maximum duration of each project will be up to 36 (thirty-six months).
Deadline for submissions is 19th March 2021.
